Under the Weather

We are all feeling a little under the weather lately. Victor, Collin, Dylan and I seem to have picked up a cold. Collin definitely has the worst of it (as usual). He always gets the nastiest cough that takes forever to go away. Alana has somehow managed to avoid the cold, but she did touch the glass on our gas fireplace last week and burned four of her fingers. It is amazing how impulsive children are. She knows that the fire is hot and not to touch it, but I guess she didn't believe us! She knows now for sure! Poor baby has blisters on four fingers on her right hand and we have to keep them covered for another few days. They want to be sure the blisters don't open and become infected. I have to take her back to the doctor next week to make sure they are healing OK since burns on your hands can be tricky. I have a feeling that Alana is going to require many more ER trips than both boys combined. She is so hyperactive, clumsy and impulsive. Not a good combination! She is supposed to start gymnastics on Thursday morning and the doctor said that will still be OK. I'm hoping that it will give her a focus for her constant energy and it should help with her coordination as well. I know that time will lessen the impulsiveness. I have to keep reminding myself of the years she wasn't able to explore this world and what sensory overload she must still be experiencing.
