I have poor Alana thoroughly confused right now! She saw some of my baby clothes in my room the other day (I was sorting through boxes in the basement recently and wanted to wash and organize these before putting them away again). I explained that they were my baby clothes and that -- yes -- I was once a baby (so hard for children to comprehend).
Then Collin got some running shoes for Christmas. I plan to coax him into my running partner this year and maybe even get him into a run\walk 5K. It will be good for him to build up his endurance for soccer and I definitely need the exercise! Alana is upset that she doesn't get to run also. I explained that when she is bigger she can go running with us. Well, she explained to me that she is big AND strong! =) She then made some comment about me running and growing bigger. I explained with a grin that I will hopefully be getting smaller! She immediately brought up the baby clothes she had seen in my room. I tried to explain that -- no -- I won't be getting THAT small!
Now, to confuse her even more, I've been trying to put on more movies in Mandarin for Alana and realized that I had never put on Alice in Wonderland for her. She was watching it tonight and when Alice drank from the bottle and shrank, she said -- "Mommy get smaller! Mommy a baby!" This poor child thinks that I am going to start running and shrink into baby size. Aren't kids the cutest!
