Pitiful

Isn't this a pitiful face? Poor Alana is coming down with something. I could tell that something was wrong because she has not been her normal active self today. She is usually running around the house, yelling at the top of her lungs, banging toys, and generally being her party-girl self. Today she has been sitting.....still. Yikes! Her cheeks are a little flushed this evening and I think she is running a slight temperature. I don't think she has run a fever since she came home. She's had a very slight cold and a couple of stomach bugs, but otherwise she has been extremely healthy. So, tonight I think I will enjoy some rare snuggles with my daughter.
In other news, we are still thinking about moving. We are having some work done to our house over the next 2-3 weeks and then we plan to put it on the market and make an offer on a house in western Lee's Summit. We'll most likely move if we can sell our house. If we can't sell it -- we'll just stay here in a clean and fixed-up house. Either way, I'm sure we'll be happy. We will just be closer to friends and family in Lee's Summit and Victor's commute shouldn't increase more than 5 minutes. Lots to do!

1200

1200 is the number of calories that I'm eating these days. I'm quite serious about losing weight this year. It just has to be done! I started keeping a food journal for the first time ever and then slowly but surely started counting my calories. In addition to lots of exercise -- I'm losing weight! Sixteen pounds to be exact! I'm hoping to lose much more and get to a more healthy weight. I'm so very excited!

We went house hunting yesterday and we are still tinkering with the idea of moving. We'll be talking to a realtor about our house soon and continuing to look elsewhere. I still don't know if anything will come of this, but we had fun looking. Collin was super cute at one of the houses. He told me that we needed to go home and "pack our things quick" and move into one of the houses. Kids are funny! This is such a huge decision and I definitely don't want to rush into anything.

Kindergarten Roundup

Tomorrow morning I'm taking Alana up to the local elementary school for Kindergarten Round-up. We've pretty much decided that we are going to start Alana in Kindergarten and see where we go from there. I think she really needs this to learn appropriate peer interaction and modeling and for her language development. I'm teaching her to read and write and she is still working on her colors and shapes. I hope to have all that down before she starts kindergarten, so she probably won't need too much academically.

In other news, we are tinkering with the idea of moving. Cause I guess we need something else to do right now! I don't know what will come of it, but it is always fun to think about.

Lucky 13!!

Today is our 13th wedding Anniversary! Wow -- it doesn't seem like it has been that long and yet it seems we've been together forever! We went out to dinner yesterday -- with the kids -- which was less than romantic. Dylan isn't feeling well and he was fussing throughout the meal. Alana was being her usual figdety self and grabbed everything in sight to play with and make noise. Collin kept complaining and pouting about our food choice (Chinese). Oh -- the joys of children! I promised Victor that there would come a day (maybe 5 or 6 years in the future) when we'll be able to go out without our kids. =) We may end up doing something for our 15th anniversary in a couple of years. (A cruise would be nice!)

We've changed a little, huh?

Here are some pictures of our cute kids! We went to a Chinese New Year celebration on Friday evening at a local art gallery. Alana thought it was wonderful!
