Is it bad when you don't know what your 2nd grader's spelling word means? Collin comes home today with "chrysalis" as a spelling word. What the heck! He also has government and constitution on his list. Granted these are challenge words, but the cool thing is that he can spell them!
In case anyone is curious -- I looked this up on the internet:
"Before it becomes a butterfly, a caterpillar goes through a growth stage during which it is called a "chrysalis." On the surface it may not look like much is happening, but the delicate chrysalis process changes the fuzzy caterpillar into an awesome butterfly with wings of intricate designs and intense colors."
